The hexagonal magnesium hydroxide flame retardant with complete crystal shape was obtained by hydrothermal modification with ordinary magnesium hydroxide as raw material. At the same time, their technical and economic indexes in the process of industrial scale-up have reached the international advanced level, which can provide design basis for the industrial production of ten thousand tons of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant.
Industrial grade magnesium hydroxide raw materials can not fully meet the requirements of customers at home and abroad due to its large particle size and wide distribution. With the support of science and technology support project of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Qinghai Provincial Department of science and technology, researchers of Salt Lake Institute have improved the technological conditions of synthesizing magnesium hydroxide, successfully synthesized high-purity and ultra-fine magnesium hydroxide, and prepared hexagonal flake magnesium hydroxide flame retardant with expected particle size.
